John R. Modlin, chief patrol agent, Tucson sector | U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Seven thousand five hundred illegal immigrants were apprehended in the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Tucson sector during the week ending June 7.
According to information reported on X by John R. Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the Tucson sector, there were also 28 rescues, 23 human smuggling events, half a dozen significant arrests, and six narcotics events.
Modlin also shared data that revealed apprehensions in the first week of June were up from the same week last year when there were 4,700 apprehensions.

The Tucson Sector of the CBP covers 262 miles of border from the Yuma County Line to the Arizona/New Mexico state border, according to the CBP’s Tucson Sector webpage. There are nine stations in Why, Casa Grande, Tucson, Nogales, Wilcox, Sonoita, Bisbee, Douglas, and Three Points.
