US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents detained 7,300 undocumented immigrants and thwarted 34 human smuggling attempts in the Tucson sector during the week ending May 10.
According to a post by John R. Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the Tucson sector, on an undisclosed platform, agents were also implicated in 244 felony criminal cases and rescued 14 individuals.
The number of apprehensions for the week ending May 10, which stands at 7,300, is slightly less than that of the last week of April when agents detained 7,900 individuals. In the first week of May during the fiscal year of 2023, agents apprehended as many as 10,300 individuals. This information was made available through a graphic provided by Modlin in his post.

In addition to these activities, Modlin's post reveals that agents confiscated 14 pounds of marijuana and 12 pounds of cocaine. They responded to ten narcotics incidents and seized three firearms.
