Grant Road improvement project set to commence in May 2024

The Grant Road Improvement Project, spanning from Alvernon Way to Swan Road (Sparkman Boulevard to Venice Place), is set to commence on Monday, May 20, 2024. The project will be undertaken by Granite Construction under a contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility. Work will initially begin at the western limit of the project, at Sparkman Boulevard, and progress eastward.

Tucson city council proposes minor property tax increase

In accordance with A.R.S. § 42-17107, the Mayor and Council of the City of Tucson have announced their intention to raise primary property taxes over last year's level. The proposed increase is $64,923 or 0.34%. This means that for a $100,000 home, the primary property tax rate will be $43.11 under the new proposal. Without this proposed increase, the total taxes owed on a $100,000 home would have been $42.97.
