The City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) is currently updating its Major Streets and Routes Plan (MS&R). This plan defines the major streets and routes in Tucson, specifying the locations and right-of-way widths for arterial and collector streets. It plays a key role in shaping development along these routes and sets guidelines for roadway elements. The City aims to revise the plan, which was last updated in 2016, under the direction of the Mayor and Council. This is to better address the city's evolving transportation and mobility requirements and to enhance development prospects along major roadways.

To facilitate public engagement, DTM will host an in-person event and a virtual meeting. These sessions will provide opportunities to review the latest draft map, learn more about the plan, engage with City staff, and offer input.

The Virtual Open House is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m. on Zoom (https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89116391651). An in-person Open House will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. at the Donna Liggins Center, 2160 N 6th Ave.

Details on the proposed changes to the map, along with various feedback tools, are available on the project website. Tools include an interactive feedback map, an online survey, and information on future events.

The updated map aims to align with the Tucson Complete Streets Policy and recent planning directives to better accommodate the transportation and mobility needs across Tucson. Following the gathering of public input, the Planning Commission, along with the Mayor and Council, will review suggested updates for consideration and potential adoption.
