FOIA Request to Pima County Regarding Voting Machines Pre-Election Test Report on October 30, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Tucson Standard have submitted a request for records under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq. This request specifically pertains to the pre-election testing of voting machines in Pima County.

We are seeking access to these records in an electronic format, preferably as a PDF. The information we have requested includes the date of testing, the machine manufacturer, the model number of each machine tested, and the status of each machine following testing (whether it passed or failed).

As members of the media, our role involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records such as these is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We await a response from Pima County regarding this request and will keep our readers updated with any developments.
