The City of Tucson, with sponsorship from the Desert Diamond Casino and Entertainment Group, an enterprise of the Tohono O'odham Nation, will present the 27th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration. The fireworks show is scheduled to launch from "A" Mountain/Sentinel Peak Park at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, weather permitting.

The Tucson Convention Center Parking Lot B will open for free viewing at 4 p.m., with food trucks available starting at 7 p.m. For ADA-related accommodations at this location, contact the Tucson Convention Center at (520) 791-4101.

Additional viewing areas include the City-State Garage at 498 W. Congress with free access and several Mercado Parking Lots with fees ranging from $8 to $15 per vehicle. Motorists should be aware of construction restrictions on Linda Avenue and significant roadwork on Silverbell Road that has reduced travel lanes.

ParkTucson has provided a map identifying parking areas, which will be available online and through social media accounts. Tailgating activities are not permitted in certain garages.

Traffic around "A" Mountain/Sentinel Peak Park will be rerouted, and specific roads including Mission Road between Star Pass Blvd. and Congress Street will be closed due to the event. Transit services remain free, with streetcar service running approximately 30 minutes after the fireworks conclude. Sun Tran bus service to most routes will end before 9 p.m., so transit riders are encouraged to use the streetcar for post-event transportation.

The Tucson Fire Department and Tucson Water will prepare the area by soaking vegetation in advance of July 4 to minimize fire risk, remaining onsite during and after the show. The Tucson Police Department will manage traffic control; access to "A" Mountain/Sentinel Peak Park closes at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, reopening Friday, July 5 at 9 a.m.

Community members are reminded to clean up any waste generated during their celebrations if watching from open lots or roadside areas.
