City Recruiting Success Leads to Additional Summer Pools Opening

Cityoftucson

The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department will open two more pools, Oury and Palo Verde, on Sunday, June 26, in addition to the 10 pools that opened earlier this summer, thanks to the initial success of our enhanced recruiting efforts to hire additional lifeguards.

The City increased lifeguard pay to $16.75/hour and has continued to hold lifeguard certification classes with the clear set goal of hiring additional lifeguards to open more pools.

Entrance to City pools will remain free throughout the summer.
