U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, has provisionally secured over $20 million for infrastructure improvements, housing projects, and other community development efforts in Arizona’s 6th District. The funding was awarded this week as part of the House Appropriations Committee’s package for Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development in FY2025.

“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, my top priority is to bring as many federal dollars as possible back to our communities while being fiscally responsible,” said Ciscomani, who also serves on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development. “I am proud to have leveraged my seat on this subcommittee to initially secure over $20 million for FY2025, money which will leave a long-lasting impact on all five of our counties in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District. From teacher housing to bridges and roads, including one in a community that has not had new road construction in 45 years, these are much-needed investments in infrastructure where the federal government can partner with local entities.”

Congressman Ciscomani worked to secure the following funds through Community Project Funding requests:

$1.8 million for Casa Grande Union High School District: This funding will be utilized by local high school career and technical education and construction students to build pre-fabricated housing units for teachers and faculty.

$7 million for the City of Sierra Vista for the Buffalo Soldier Trail Reconstruction Project: Building upon previous funds secured by Ciscomani, these dollars will allow Sierra Vista to move to Phase II of the project aimed at repaving and replacing the road for the first time in 20 years.

$1.9 million for the Town of Duncan’s Main and High Streets Improvement Project: With these dollars, Duncan will be able to repave over 4,000 feet on Main and High Streets which have not been repaired in 45 years.

$7 million for Town of Oro Valley: This money will be used for maintenance and repair of bridges in Oro Valley that currently display visible spalling, cracks, and other signs of deterioration.

$1 million for the Town of Pima for the Pima High School Road Construction Project: These funds will allow Pima to begin construction on an access road to the area’s new high school.

$1 million for the City of Eloy’s Frontier Street Mill and Overlay Project: This funding will be used to replace asphalt and revitalize historic Frontier Street which serves as the main gateway to downtown Eloy.

$1 million for Casa Grande Elementary School District's Community Center Revitalization Project: This funding will convert an existing school district building into a community center offering after-school activities, educational support services, and student health and wellness resources in Casa Grande.

In FY24, Congressman Ciscomani secured $26 million for 13 projects across all five counties in his district. He is currently the only member from Arizona's congressional delegation serving on the House Appropriations Committee.
