Planning and Development Services (PDSD) has announced an opportunity for individuals to serve on the Design Review Board (DRB). The department is seeking to fill two vacant positions: one for a contractor and another for a registered architect residing within the City of Tucson limits.

The DRB plays a crucial role in reviewing, holding hearings, and making recommendations on development applications in areas such as the Rio Nuevo Area, Grant Road Investment District, Sunshine Mile District, as well as requests for landscape variances and other applications. According to the Unified Development Code § 2.2.6, the board should include at least one registered architect, one contractor, and two registered landscape architects.

Appointments to the DRB are made by the City of Tucson Mayor and Council. A fully appointed board ensures that quorums are met and that items are addressed promptly.

PDSD encourages potential members to discuss the roles and time commitments involved with María Gayosso, Principal Planner. She can be contacted via email at maria.gayosso@tucsonaz.gov.

For further inquiries or issues, residents can contact 311 or visit Tucson 311 online to submit requests.
