On April 9, 2024, the City of Tucson Mayor and Council announced their intention to revise development rates and fees for Planning and Development Services (PDSD) customers. The proposed fee increase, which will be discussed at a public hearing on June 18, 2024, will affect various departments including PDSD, the Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), and Tucson Fire.

According to the announcement, the fee increases will be around 3.5% in FY2025 and 3.5% in FY2026 for services such as staff review, building permits, right-of-way permitting, fire construction permits, and more. The City will be reaching out to development stakeholders and the community over the next 60 days to gather feedback before the public hearing.

During the April 9 meeting, the Mayor and Council also approved revisions to rates and fees for Tucson Parks and Recreation and Park Tucson. This decision came after an inconsistency in the fee structure was identified during the outreach process, leading to a delay in the public hearing to allow for more community and stakeholder engagement.

In light of these changes, individuals are encouraged to review the Year One Proposed Redline Fee Schedule and the Year Two Proposed Redline Fee Schedule, as well as provide feedback via an online form.

For more information or to submit feedback, individuals can contact the City of Tucson at 255 W. Alameda St., Tucson, Arizona 85701, or visit Tucson 311 to submit a request.

The City of Tucson is dedicated to ensuring transparency and community involvement in the decision-making process regarding development rates and fees.
