The City of Tucson Department of Transportation Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division announced a forthcoming crack seal project on Speedway Boulevard from Country Club Road to Tucson Boulevard, including the intersections. Set to commence on Sunday, April 21, 2024, the project will involve night work from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning, with completion scheduled by Friday, May 3.

Crews will initiate the maintenance work in the westbound travel lanes on Speedway Boulevard from Country Club Road to Tucson Boulevard before transitioning to the eastbound lanes. During the project, only one travel lane will be accessible to motorists, with turn lane restrictions in place at intersections. To ensure smooth traffic flow, law enforcement officers will be present on-site to aid in directing travel around the work zone. Additionally, message boards will be utilized to provide advance notice to the traveling public.

As cautioned by the City of Tucson, the project's timeline is susceptible to alterations due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. Motorists navigating through the designated work areas should anticipate delays and adhere to all traffic control signs. The City encourages cooperation by reminding everyone to watch out for personnel and equipment in the work zone.

For any inquiries, issues, or suggestions related to the project, the City of Tucson provides contact information via phone at 311 or through the Tucson 311 online platform.

The Crack Seal Project on Speedway Boulevard aims to enhance the road's infrastructure and safety measures for all road users in Tucson.
