U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents apprehended 6,600 individuals in the Tucson sector during the week ending April 5, according to information provided by Chief Patrol Agent for the sector, John R. Modlin.
Modlin detailed that agents were involved in 12 rescues, four narcotics events, and 179 federal criminal cases during this period. They also seized one firearm and recovered a stolen vehicle.
Comparatively, during the same week in 2023, agents apprehended 7,700 migrants as per a graphic shared by Modlin. The month of March saw a total of 38,900 apprehensions in the Tucson sector according to this graphic.

In another graphic included in Modlin's post, it was revealed that the number of Tucson sector accepted federal criminal cases each month since October 2023 had risen. In March, this number escalated to 889 from February's count of 684.
