On September 7, 1936, the Tucson Police Department lost its third officer in the line of duty.  Officer Robert V. Cummins passed away from injuries he sustained while riding his motorcycle in Phoenix, AZ while participating in an escort. Officer Cummins had served ten years with the U.S. Border Patrol prior to becoming a Tucson Police Officer for nine months. 

Officer Cummins was survived by his wife and four children. Today, 86 years after his death, we honor and remember his life and service.
