Tucson Fire Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 13.
You are used to seeing #TucsonFire use water to extinguish fires - but what if it’s gas or another flammable liquid that is on fire and spreading quickly?
Firefighters use a synthetic firefighting foam to keep these fires under control, and #TFD is committed to testing and finding the most effective foam while keeping our firefighters and our environment safe from harmful chemicals. We have partnered with @uarizona to find out more, and put different foams to the test at our Public Safety Academy.
