Arizona Athletics Hosts Lute Olson Tribute on Sept. 12

University of Arizona Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

The University of Arizona and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics have announced further details in advance of the Lute Olson Tribute on Sunday, Sept. 12. The event will continue to be open to the public and tickets are not required for entry.

A number of Coach Olson's former players, staff members and managers are expected to be in attendance, with some of the speaking during the event.

 Below you will find information related to updated health and safety guidelines for attending UA sporting events as well as information on parking and more.

 Health and Safety Guidelines

  • All fans and patrons and fans are required to show they have a facial covering in order to enter stadiums or arenas. If a facial covering is not presented, fans and patrons will not be permitted entry.
  • All fans and patrons are required to wear a facial covering when in indoor spaces, which includes restroom, elevators, common indoor areas, and other indoor entertainment spaces.
  • When in indoor entertainment spaces, fans and patrons are not required to wear facial coverings when seated and eating.
  • Fans and Patron can be asked to leave the facility if they are non-compliant.
  • Arizona Athletics expect all those who attend Arizona tailgating and sporting events to be vaccinated or have tested negative for the COVID virus in the last 72 hours. This expectation is necessary to ensure the safety of all those attending and participating. Let's work together as a community to protect each other.
  • If you have not been vaccinated, tested negative for the COVID virus within the last 72 hours, or if you are currently having COVID symptoms, or if you are in any way concerned about your personal health, we encourage you to not attend these activities.
Event Details

  • All parking lots around the McKale Center are available free of charge on the weekend.
  • Fans will be allowed to enter the McKale Center via Gate B (adjacent to the McKale Center Ticket Office windows on the south side of the venue) or Gate C (the bridge that connects the Cherry Parking Garage to the West).
  • Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. with the event beginning at 11:30 a.m.
  • The tribute will be live streamed using the following links:
    • ArizonaWildcats.com (free)
    • Pac-12 Insider (free)
  • The Pac-12 Network will air the tribute via tape delay starting at 6:00 p.m. (Pacific) on Sunday.
