Diocese of Tucson issued the following announcement on Sep. 1
The Diocesan School Collection and Catholic Extension are two of the foundation pieces for Catholic Education. This summer, Catholic Extension empowered Catholic students to tell their summertime stories. Attracting aspiring literary talent is part of Catholic Extension’s tradition!
How does a Catholic school student weather a pandemic?
After a tough semester in lock-down last spring, Catholic Extension wanted to help young people living in these unprecedented times. Together with Playmakers Laboratory, we created Summer of Stories, an online writing resource and literary challenge for young authors ages 7-13. " Writing is storytelling. No matter how you slice it, you’re saying ‘Once upon a time.’ That’s what writing is all about." said, Mary Higgins Clark. Here the storyteller Isabella Davis a student at SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School in Tucson tells the story about how she and her older sister weather the pandemic.
