Juan Ciscomani discusses cotton industry importance and honors late mayor

Congressman Juan Ciscomani, representing Arizona's 6th district since 2023, shared insights and personal reflections on recent events through a series of tweets. Born in Hermosillo, Mexico, in 1982, Ciscomani has been an active political figure and currently resides in Tucson.

On November 22, 2024, Congressman Ciscomani emphasized the importance of cotton to Arizona's economy following a meeting with the National Cotton Council. He stated, "Great meeting with the National Cotton Council. As one of Arizona’s 5 ‘Cs’, cotton is critically important to our state’s economy. We discussed the need to pass the Farm Bill to assist and support our cotton growers and our farmers and ranchers."

Later that day, he expressed condolences for the passing of Marana Mayor Ed Honea. On this occasion, he remarked on November 22, 2024: "Laura and I are deeply saddened by the news of Marana Mayor Ed Honea’s sudden passing. One of southern Arizona’s most influential leaders, Ed was a dear friend of ours and a devoted public servant who cared deeply about the residents of Marana."

On November 23, 2024, Congressman Ciscomani reflected on his week spent in Washington D.C., including legislative accomplishments and engagements with U.S. Border Patrol Agents. He shared via Twitter: "Spent the week in Washington and Friday in Safford, AZ! We passed a landmark Veterans' bill through the House and gave a group of U.S. Border Patrol Agents a tour of the Capitol, and finally attended two hearings on the Appropriations Committee."
