Diocese of Tucson issued the following announcement on Aug. 27
The Catholic University of America-Tucson has officially launched with 14 trailblazing students. Students are jointly enrolled at Catholic University and Pima Community College in the freshman and sophomore years. In the junior and senior years enrollment will be only at Catholic University.
Catholic University has a demonstrated track record of providing unique services to the Church, the nation, and the world. From 1912 to 1968, Catholic University operated a Program of Affiliation which, at its height, included 177 affiliated campuses across the country. The University provided these campuses with curricula, faculty training, and best practices. This program was discontinued in 1968 once these affiliated campuses could operate on their own. The undergraduate business degree program for students in Tucson is a 21st-century version of this historical commitment. We are committed to improving the lives of students, their families, and Tucson itself.
Meet Trailblazer Cassandra Lopez
Cassandra is ready to advance her education, and we are so excited she chose Catholic University at Tucson as her college. She understands the value of education and already envisions how it will advance her career. She wants to pursue a career in kinesiology, eventually opening her own rehabilitation business. Cassandra’s dream fills her with motivation: She knew she already had the potential--now she needed to increase her skillset. She speaks of inspiring others, looking to be a positive influence on those in her community. Her wonderful attitude is inherent. Necessary business skills can be learned. When Cassandra’s mindset converges with her newly refined skill set, she will be unstoppable. We are thrilled to be a component in fulfilling Cassandra’s dream as we welcome her into the 2020 cohort!
