Congratulations to Buena Vista Healthcare grand opening!
Buena Vista Health and Recovery Centers at Tucson, a 50,000 square foot Arizona based drug and alcohol detox and treatment campus, has opened and will begin accepting residential patients. This full-service campus offers specially licensed medical staff on site 24 hours a day and a full range of treatment services including: medically monitored detox; inpatient residential treatment; partial hospitalization (PHP); intensive outpatient (IOP); outpatient (OP); medication assisted treatment (MAT); primary care medicine; and telemedicine. Not typical of residential treatment centers, Buena Vista Health and Recovery Center at Tucson has 70 private rooms with private restrooms, offering treatment programs to men and women, aged 18 and older. Features of the campus include individual therapy and group therapy spaces, indoor and outdoor recreation areas, dining room and transportation services on site. All guests are able to take part in on-site activities including exercise classes, art therapy, yoga and more.
Leading the medical team is Dr. Paul R. Valbuena, who is a double board-certified psychiatrist and addictionologist, serving as Buena Vista Health and Recovery Centers at Tucson’s medical director. An addictionologist is a specialist in the diagnosis, study, and treatment of psychological dependence.
It is among the only campus of its kind to provide primary care services to its guests.
This means that even though traditional inpatient and outpatient treatment have concluded, guests are still able to see the primary care providers from Buena Vista for routine medical needs ranging from allergies, flu and colds to routine physicals and check-ups. Buena Vista Health and Recovery Centers are is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, considered the gold standard in health care. It is licensed as a 3.7 ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) detox facility. ASAM utilizes a detailed set of criteria for the level of care provided, and Buena Vista is at the top of the ASAM criteria scale.
