95 coaches at institutions in Pima County earned $489,926 on average in 2022

Pima County’s 95 coaches earned an average salary of $489,926 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Arizona post-secondary schools during 2022.

Pima County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Arizona stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $723,465.

Male coaches of men's teams received $661,451 on average in Pima County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $211,259.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
