Born February 15, 1967: Richard Siken, Poet and Artist

Richard Siken was born on February 15, 1967. He is known for his work as a poet, painter, and filmmaker. His first poetry collection, *Crush*, won the Yale Series of Younger Poets Competition in 2004 and was published in 2005. His second collection, *War of the Foxes*, was published in 2015 by Copper Canyon Press. Siken has a strong connection to Tucson, Arizona, where he became an active member of the local arts community. He participated in readings and workshops, sharing his expertise with others. Siken’s work often explores themes of love, loss, and identity, and he continues to be celebrated for his contributions to the arts.
