Barbara Ellen Kingsolver, born April 8, 1955, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist, essayist, and poet. Known for works like “The Poisonwood Bible” and “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle,” Kingsolver explores themes of social justice and biodiversity. In 2023, she earned the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for “Demon Copperhead.” Raised in Tucson, AZ, Kingsolver’s connection to the desert landscape inspired her writing, shaping her exploration of the human-environment relationship.
