U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani has announced that Pinal County Sheriff Ross Teeple will accompany him as a guest to President Donald Trump's address to a joint session of Congress. This announcement highlights the ongoing commitment to supporting law enforcement officers and their crucial role in community safety.
Ciscomani stated, "Our law enforcement officers consistently go above and beyond to safeguard our communities, and I am committed to using my position to support their critical mission." He added, "It is an honor to welcome newly elected Sheriff of Pinal County, Ross Teeple, as my guest for President Trump's Joint Address to Congress."
Sheriff Teeple was elected as the 25th sheriff of Pinal County in November and assumed office in January. A Tucson native and Navy veteran, he has served 12 years with the Arizona Department of Corrections before joining the Pinal County Sheriff's Office in 2007.
Teeple expressed his gratitude by saying, “I’m honored by Congressman Ciscomani’s invitation to be his guest at President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress.” He emphasized the challenges faced by Pinal County regarding border security issues, stating that fentanyl-related prosecutions have more than tripled between 2020 and 2023.
In his career with the Sheriff's Office, Teeple has held various roles including patrol deputy, search and rescue deputy, patrol sergeant, criminal investigations sergeant, internal affairs supervisor, human resources manager, patrol lieutenant, and aviation/search and rescue lieutenant.
Previously in 2023 and 2024 respectively, Ciscomani invited Lee Lambert from Pima Community College and Jane Strain from Cochise County as his guests.
