Congressman Juan Ciscomani, representing Arizona's 6th District, has recently taken to social media to express his support for the HALT Fentanyl Act. The act aims to address the ongoing fentanyl crisis in the United States by classifying fentanyl as a Schedule 1 drug. Ciscomani, who has been serving in Congress since 2023 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick, has made it clear that combating this issue is a priority for him.

On February 6, 2025, Congressman Ciscomani tweeted about the impact of fentanyl on his border district and across the U.S., stating: "In my border district and across the U.S., too many lives have been lost and families shattered by fentanyl. It must end." He highlighted that the House would vote on the HALT Fentanyl Act that day.

Later that same day, he posted another tweet affirming his intention to vote for H.R. 27. Ciscomani wrote: "I'm on my way to vote for H.R. 27, the HALT Fentanyl Act, to crack down on the distribution of this poison and permanently classify it as a Schedule 1 drug." He reiterated his commitment to protecting communities in his border district.

Finally, on February 7, 2025, Congressman Ciscomani announced via Twitter that H.R. 27 had passed. He stated: " PASSED: H.R. 27, the HALT Fentanyl Act, a bill I co-sponsored!" Expressing pride in voting yes on this bill aimed at equipping law enforcement with necessary tools against fentanyl distribution.
