The University of Arizona Police Department has taken steps to enforce the campus use policy following the establishment of an unauthorized encampment on university grounds. The structure, built from wooden pallets and other debris, appeared after 5 p.m., violating campus regulations. Despite warnings from university officials to dismantle the encampment and disperse, those involved did not comply.

University President Robert C. Robbins has adopted a zero-tolerance stance in enforcing this policy to ensure the safety of students, faculty, visitors, and university events. Reports indicate that police vehicles were spiked and officers, along with university staff, faced rocks and water bottles being thrown at them during the incident. Individuals who broke the law may face arrest and prosecution as part of efforts to maintain order and security.

In addition to addressing immediate safety concerns, actions have been taken by university officials to protect attendees at Centennial Hall convocation events.

Previously communicated messages include one from President Robbins on May 1 regarding demonstrations that took place on April 29-30.
