The City of Tucson's Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) is inviting community members to a virtual meeting to discuss proposed changes to electric vehicle (EV) charging regulations. These changes are part of the review process for parking standards under the Community Corridors Tool (CCT) code amendments.

In 2022, Mayor and Council established regulations for electric vehicle supply equipment to set standards for EV readiness in new commercial and multi-family developments. The aim is to expand access to charging infrastructure by ensuring that new projects accommodate current and future EV users in Tucson.

A community survey conducted by PDSD staff assessed the implementation of these regulations. Based on survey results and feedback from Mayor and Council during their September 11, 2024 Study Session, potential adjustments have been identified. These include requirements related to site expansion and resizing EV infrastructure needs when less parking is provided.

The community is encouraged to provide input on these proposed modifications by attending the upcoming meeting:

Date: Thursday, November 21, 2024

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Virtual - Zoom

For further information or to submit feedback on the proposal, residents can contact the City of Tucson through various channels including calling 311 or visiting Tucson 311 online.
