U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, issued a statement following his vote for H.R. 9747, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. This legislation aims to maintain government funding and operations.

Ciscomani emphasized his dedication to finding practical solutions for national issues and delivering results for his district. He stated, "As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I am committed to pursuing common sense solutions on the issues affecting our nation and delivering tangible results for my district."

He highlighted the negative impact of a government shutdown on his constituents and critical federal agencies. "A government shutdown is bad policy that hurts my constituents, disrupts the functioning of critical federal agencies, like the Department of Veterans Affairs, and would harm our federal employees, including members of the Armed Forces, CBP Agents, postal workers, air traffic control, and others who would be furloughed or have their pay delayed," Ciscomani said.

Ciscomani expressed that while the legislation is not perfect, it serves its purpose in keeping the government operational. "The American people should not be made to suffer for Washington’s dysfunction. While this legislation isn’t perfect, it accomplishes the goal of keeping the government open and working," he noted.

However, he also pointed out that this is only a temporary measure and more work remains on the budget before year-end. "This is only a temporary solution and we still have major work to do on the budget before the end of the year," Ciscomani added.
