Eduardo Antonio Leon was born on August 11, 1946, in Tucson, Arizona. He grew up in a family of Mexican American descent that valued hard work and perseverance. From a young age, Eduardo showed a strong interest in baseball and developed his skills on the fields of Tucson.

Leon began his Major League Baseball career with the Cleveland Indians in 1968. He played as an infielder, splitting his time between shortstop and second baseman. He stayed with the Indians until 1972, contributing solid defensive plays and consistent batting. In 1973, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox, where he continued to play for two seasons.

In December 1974, Leon was traded to the New York Yankees for Cecil Upshaw during the Winter Meetings. He played with the Yankees until May 5, 1975, when he was released. Throughout his eight-season career, Leon was known for his versatility and reliability on the field.

After his MLB career, Leon returned to Tucson. He stayed active in the local baseball community, mentoring young players and sharing his experiences. His connection to Tucson remained strong, and he often participated in community events and local sports programs.
