In August 2022, The City of Tucson was awarded $25 million in federal grant funding through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program. DTM will use these funds to help construct the revitalization project.
The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), an independently governed political subdivision of Arizona, has invested over $1.2 billion in transportation projects to improve mobility, safety, economic vitality, and quality of life in the region. The RTA collects a half-cent excise tax from its special taxing district within Pima County to fund its regional transportation plan approved by voters in May 2006. The bridge revitalization project is part of this plan and is managed by the City of Tucson. For more information on RTA initiatives, visit www.RTAmobility.com.
