Following the House Appropriations Committee’s passage of the final funding packages for FY2025, local stakeholders are praising U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), a member of the Committee, for preliminarily securing $34 million for Arizona’s 6th District. The funds were provisionally awarded in this year’s appropriations process through the Congressman’s Community Project Funding (CPF) requests. Should these funds be signed into law, Ciscomani will have secured $60 million for the district during his freshman term in Congress.

“From my first day in office, I promised to use my position as Arizona’s sole House appropriator to bring as many federal dollars as possible back to our district while maintaining a strong sense of fiscal responsibility,” said Ciscomani. “I am proud to continue making good on this promise by preliminarily securing $34 million this year for projects in all five counties in our district that will facilitate growth, enhance public safety, secure our water supply, expand access to housing, and strengthen our critical infrastructure.”

Local officials and stakeholders praised Ciscomani for preliminarily securing these funds.

“We are thrilled that Representative Ciscomani was able to include funding for the Buffalo Soldier Trail Reconstruction project in this appropriations bill and grateful for his continued support for local projects that significantly impact our residents and the soldiers on Fort Huachuca,” said Sierra Vista Mayor Clea McCaa.

“As Mayor of Tombstone, Arizona, I want to thank Congressman Ciscomani for his efforts in securing $989,786 for a rebuild of our over 50-year-old Water Reclamation Facility,” said Tombstone Mayor Dustin Escapule. “This critical upgrade is vital for the health and well-being of our community and the half-million tourists who visit us each year. These improvements will cut daily maintenance costs and help operators maintain a safe and efficient plant.”

"Your dedication to rural Arizona and Graham County is something we have not seen for quite some time and has certainly not gone unnoticed,” said Chairman of the Board of Supervisors John Howard. “The funding for this project will benefit the entire community and the improvement to our parks and fairground will be something we as a county and you as our Congressman will be forever proud of."

“Congressman Ciscomani’s support of the Town of Pima has been unbelievable. The School Road project is essential to our town as without it, we would not have proper access to the new Pima High School set to open in fall 2025,” said Pima Town Manager Vernon Batty and Councilwoman Teresa Bailey in a joint statement. “For Juan Ciscomani’s office to recognize our need and then work so tirelessly to find funding avenues for this project a year after securing funding for our new Fire Station blows us away. He cares deeply about the needs of our district and is working hard to make sure that our tax dollars come back from Washington to benefit lives in southeastern Arizona.”

"Thank you, Congressman Ciscomani, for your dedicated service to our community, especially for your unwavering efforts in advocating for rural Arizona, and for the directed spending request for street repair and improvement in Duncan, Arizona,” said Town of Duncan Mayor Alex Blake. “Your proactive approach to addressing our infrastructure needs is commendable and greatly appreciated. The improvements you champion will undoubtedly enhance our community's quality of life for years to come.”

“Thank you to Congressman Ciscomani for making sure that we have the resources to put the right work in the right hands,” said Tucson Mayor Regina Romero. “This investment is directly supporting the work of our Tucson Police Department, especially our Community Service Officers, to help create a safer Tucson. This is an important piece of our holistic approach to delivering safety to our community.”

“I want to thank Congressman Ciscomani for supporting this critical investment in additional vehicles for the Tucson Police Department,” said City Manager Tim Thomure. “Thanks to these federal resources we are making sure that our officers have the tools they need to keep Tucsonans safe.”

“This much-needed investment in our vehicle fleet will make us better able to keep our officers safe and protect and serve the residents of Tucson,” said Tucson Police Chief Chad Kasmar.
