U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents arrested Juventino Torres-Garcia, a convicted felon and pedophile, near San Miguel. John Modlin, CBP’s chief patrol agent in the Tucson Sector, announced the arrest on X on June 6.

"Juventino Torres-Garcia was arrested by Three Points Station agents after crossing the border illegally near San Miguel, AZ," Modlin posted. "Records revealed the Mexican national is a sex offender, convicted of felony indecency with a child-exposure. He faces criminal charges."

Originally created in 2011 as a satellite station, the Three Points Station became an official border patrol station in 2018. Staffed by over 200 agents, the station is responsible for patrolling 15.79 miles of international border from between the Baboquivari Mountains and Alvarez Mountains.

During fiscal year 2024 to date, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has arrested 29,296 illegal aliens who have previous criminal convictions or who are wanted by law enforcement.

One of the nine sectors of the U.S.-Mexico border is the Tucson Sector, which covers 262 border miles and includes all of the Arizona-Mexico border and parts of the California-Mexico border.

Modlin joined the US Border Patrol in 1995 and has since worked in a variety of positions in the San Diego Sector, Detroit Sector, Miami Sector, and several posts on either coast.
