The Mayor and Council of the City of Tucson have announced their intention to increase primary property taxes, as required by A.R.S. § 42-17107. The City is proposing a tax increase of $64,923 or 0.34% over last year's level. This would result in a primary property tax rate of $43.11 on a $100,000 home, compared to $42.97 without the proposed increase.

To ensure transparency and public participation, a public hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at or after 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in-person at City Hall located at 255 W. Alameda St. Additionally, a livestream of the meeting will be available for those who prefer to participate online.

All interested citizens are encouraged to attend the public hearing to learn more about the proposed tax increase and its implications. For further details on the meeting format and how to request to be heard, individuals are advised to refer to the agenda or contact the City of Tucson officials.
