U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) has successfully secured $4.6 million for Cochise County as part of the FY24 appropriations package. Speaking about the funding, Ciscomani emphasized the importance of prioritizing projects in all areas of his district, stating, "I am confident that this money – nearly $5 million – will have a long-lasting impact on the community and benefit Cochise County residents, visitors, and businesses for years to come."

The funds will be allocated to two significant projects within Cochise County. The Northern Cochise Community Hospital in Willcox will receive $859,000 for structural upgrades to enhance the main entry and emergency department. CEO of the hospital, Mo Sheldon, expressed gratitude towards Congressman Ciscomani, saying, "We are very thankful to Representative Ciscomani and his office for spearheading this effort and to Senators Kelly and Sinema for their continued support and commitment."

Additionally, the City of Sierra Vista will benefit from $3.79 million for the Buffalo Soldier Trail Reconstruction Project. The Mayor Pro Tem of Sierra Vista, Carolyn Umphrey, highlighted the importance of this funding, stating, "If we were to try to fund this project solely on our own, it would take us cutting some vital services from our budget."

Ciscomani's efforts extended beyond Cochise County, as he secured a total of $26 million for 13 projects across Arizona's 6th Congressional District. He is the sole member of the Arizona delegation serving on the House Appropriations Committee, underscoring his commitment to advocating for vital infrastructure projects in the region.
