U.S. Representatives Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05), and Michelle Steel (CA-45) have introduced a resolution in support of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. The resolution aims to express backing for IVF as an effective method for individuals facing infertility challenges.

"Everyone who has the desire to know and feel the joy of parenthood should have the opportunity," expressed Ciscomani, emphasizing the importance of IVF in empowering women and families. He added, "IVF treatments have empowered women and families, and it should always be an option available to those who need and want it. This resolution emphasizes Congress’ support for IVF and I am proud to join my colleagues in leading this charge.”

Chavez-DeRemer, speaking from her perspective as a mother, highlighted the significance of IVF as a safe and effective healthcare option for individuals struggling with infertility. She stressed the need to protect IVF access, stating, "Moving forward, I hope state legislatures will take action as needed to support IVF access."

Steel, sharing her personal experience with infertility, expressed her strong belief in the importance of protecting and maintaining accessibility to IVF. She remarked, "I am proud to support this resolution to reaffirm Congress’ support for IVF and growing families. Over 8 million children have blessed their parents because of this safe, effective treatment. I am so grateful for the gift of life through IVF."

The resolution, if passed, will affirm the U.S. House of Representatives' support for IVF by advocating for its access and use nationwide. It also underscores the commitment to policies that enable families to grow and thrive, while recognizing the preciousness of life.
