United States Border Patrol has recently apprehended 3000 people at Tohono O'Odham Nation, which is located approximately 90 miles southwest of Tucson.

The Tohono O'Odham Nation is Arizona's second-largest reservation and the smallest port of entry in Arizona. With an increasing number of migrants, Border Patrol is conducting multiple trips daily. "Migrants are improvising shelters from available materials in an effort to protect themselves from the sun," said KVOA.

Concerns are growing among lawmakers regarding the ongoing border situation, with critical issues such as human and drug smuggling, along with the expanding influence of cartels in the region coming to the forefront. In Southern Arizona, there has been an increase in drug trafficking, especially synthetic opioid Fentanyl - a substance that is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. In response to this alarming development, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) uses X-ray scanning technology, drug-sniffing dogs, and detectives for detecting and confiscating these drugs as reported by ABC.

"The invasion is getting worse," said Ben Bergquam, host of “Law & Border “ on X platform. "It all appears to be coordinated in an effort to push the crossings to areas where they think the cameras can’t get to in order to prevent Americans from being able to see it and distract from the drugs and people that don’t want to get caught crossing just a few hundred feet away."

Arizona lawmakers have expressed further concerns after reports indicated a considerable number of migrants possibly heading towards the border. According to Reuters, this large group might consist of up to 5,000 migrants originating from countries including Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala among others.

"7,000+ illegal aliens have formed a caravan in Mexico and are heading towards our southern border right now," said Rep. Andy Biggs on platform X. "It's time for the Biden Administration to stop playing games. Build our wall. Enforce our laws. Secure our border."
