Thursday morning the Tucson Fire Department Wildland Program hosted wildland firefighters from across the country to participate in the annual Sweetwater Wetlands burn.
This operation serves to clear the area so Tucson Water can spray larvicide before the parks basins are re-filled with water. It also serves as an ideal wildland fire training exercise.
Crews will remain on scene throughout the day to watch for hot spots.
