Apartment Fire

APARTMENT FIRE. At 2:06 Tuesday afternoon Tucson Fire was dispatched to the Aspen Grove Apartments in the 1500 block of S. Woodland Avenue for reports of an apartment fire. Engine 9 and Battalion 3 were on scene at 2:11, where they observed heavy fire from the first floor apartment quickly spreading to the second floor unit. Battalion 3 called for a second alarm at 2:13. With the help of additional units #TFD crews were able to call this fire under control at 2:28. No injuries. A total of 6 people have been displaced by this fire. The Red Cross has been called to assist those displaced cause investigators are on scene, and preliminary reports indicate this fire began in the kitchen in the first floor apartment. One cat passed away due to smoke inhalation.
