The Tucson Police Department is proud to announce the newest member of the Bomb Squad. Explosive Detection Canine Apollo began his training last month and has passed his certifications. Apollo was funded by the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation-SALEF.
The foundation's generosity has provided the Bomb Squad with the continued ability to detect hazards to keep our officers and community members safe.
Keep an eye out for Apollo and his handler, Hazardous Devices Technician Nicholas Fontenot, at the University of Arizona home football and basketball games and several large events this fall.
