Tucson Parks and Recreation will host a fall kickoff event for the mobile recreation program Ready, Set, Rec! on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 8-11 a.m., at Purple Heart Park, 9800 E. Rita Road. After slowing down during the hot summer months, the six vans (and equipment to bring recreation to the community) will visit at least three different park locations per week, per vehicle. This program ensures that the entire community is served and has an opportunity to participate in recreation activities near where they live. The event will have all six vans and activities, games, fun for all ages, and raffle prizes. Special guests include the First Tee golf program and the Tucson Roadrunners.
