Pima Community College Adopts Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget

Budget

The Pima County Community College District Governing Board voted June 8, 2022, to adopt the College’s fiscal year 2022-2023 budget of $363.4 million for all funds.

After two years of no property tax increases, the Governing Board approved an increase in the primary tax rate of 4.0% for fiscal year 2022-2023, as allowed by state law. The increase will provide approximately $5 million in additional revenues, which will be utilized to implement a new compensation structure for regular faculty, staff, and administrators and to create an Adjunct Faculty Tier System as the College seeks to attract and retain talented employees.

The fiscal year 2022-2023 combined property tax rate of $1.2878 per $100 of net assessed value will bring Pima County Community College District’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to $128.78. Without the increase, the total taxes on a $100,000 home would have been $123.83.

The secondary tax rate will continue at zero as the College has no outstanding general obligation debt.

Also, after two years of no tuition increases, the budget also includes an increase of $2.00 per credit hour for in-state resident tuition. Approved in March 2022, the tuition increase will provide continued support for loaning computers and other electronic devices for students in need and  will supplement scholarship programs.
