A clothing bank in Tucson is offering its services exclusively to foster families in need.

According to KOLD 13 News, the Spreading Threads Clothing Bank at 1870 West Prince Road is a grassroots nonprofit that provides free clothing to kids and teens in foster care. Michele Wright, the executive director and co-founder of Spreading Threads Clothing Bank told KOLD 13 News that any donations to the clothing bank help.

"I was stunned how children are placed in these totally impossible difficult situations that we as adults would have trouble navigating and dealing with," Wright told KOLD 13 News. "And it just became my passion to remove any burden or any obstacle that is in their way that I could because they have so much on their plate."

Wright has adopted four foster children of her own and knows first hand the need for the clothing bank.

"Our mission here to reestablish some dignity for these kids to make them feel good about what they are doing," Wright told KOLD 13 News. "Kids can come here and get as much as they want for free."

The clothing bank provides clothing to about 250 to 300 children a month. Wright said that she hopes the business will expand to be able to serve even more children in need.
