City of Tucson issued the following announcement on Dec. 9.
The Public Safety Tax Oversight Commission has two openings for commission members.
The vacant slots are both for appointees from the City Manager's Office. All commission members must be residents of the City of Tucson. Members monitor the progress of the public safety improvement projects and expenditures funded by the 2017 charter amendment. They also ensure that the purposes for which the charter amendment and related Public Safety Improvements Plan were approved are carried out and that revenues from the charter amendment are accounted for separately. Applications and letters of interest should be sent to jeffrey.whiting@tucsonaz.gov by Friday, Dec. 17.
