$5 Million Challenge Grant to Pima Community College

Money 02

Pima Community College issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.

Larry Adamson of the Connie J. Hillman Family Foundation and Pima Foundation President Marcy Euler sign documents for the Hillman Family Foundation’s $5 Million Challenge Grant to Pima Community College — the largest private gift received in the College’s history.

The gift was announced Dec. 1 during @PimaFoundation’s annual holiday reception. The gift will be directed toward Pima programs and workforce development initiatives, with grants over the next three years of $1 (up to $5 million) for every $2 (up to $10 million) raised by Pima Foundations.

The Hillman foundation has awarded more than $14 million to local nonprofits, and its pledge of $5 million in matching funds to Pima Foundation is its largest commitment in the Tucson region. At the reception, Adamson said the Hillman foundation was impressed by Pima’s innovative workforce development programs, reputation in the community and the overall direction of the College in serving the workforce needs of businesses and industries in the region.
