Istock 000010436389 medium

Pima County Public Library recently issued the following announcement.

Date: October 19, 2021

What do the Pima County Public Library and Lesbian Looks have in common? Both have been providing Tucson with access to LGBTQI+ arts for 25 or more years! And both will be the guests of Senior Pride for their October Speaker Series, helping us stay in touch with our local Pride Tribe history during National LGBTQ History Month.

Our LGBTQI+ community wouldn’t be as rich without the arts

Seeds for the current landscape were planted by two groups: Lesbian Looks and the Public Library’s LGBTQ Services Committee. For more than two decades these groups have cultivated access to LGBTQ arts in Tucson through innovative programs. Where would we be without them? What can we learn from their vibrant roles in living history?

Join us as Bev Seckinger of Lesbian Looks and Toby Wehner of the Pima County Public Library’s LGBTQ+ Services Committee share a look at the struggles and highlights their organizations have faced.
