Tucson Fire Department issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.
At 7:06 Thursday morning Tucson Fire was dispatched to the apartments at 41 S. Shannon for reports of a second-story apartment fire.
Arriving crews found the attic heavily involved in a vacant apartment. Concerned for the safety of the residents, command called for a second alarm in case anyone needed help evacuating. Fire was called under control at 7:48.
Fire cause investigators believe the fire was caused by an electrical source in the attic space. No injuries. Displaced residents are being temporarily relocated to vacant apartments in the complex.
