Neighbor Helps First Responders Save a Life

Police

Tucson Police Department issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.

.Patrol officers from the Southside Division and Tucson Fire Medics were dispatched to an unresponsive 2-year-old. First responders arrived and found that a neighbor, Amada Tabanico, had performed lifesaving CPR on the child.

Amada continued care until TFD Medics responded and transported the child to a local hospital. Her assistance to first responders is an excellent example of the outcome when our community members and first responders work together.

Officer Robinson and Officer Calderon were two of the many officers who responded to the call that day. Amada was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the officers this morning at the Santa Cruz Substation. Thank you Amada & our awesome Tucson community!
