Learn how to increase your job search efficiency and effectiveness.
In this 60-minute workshop, you will learn:
- How to fill out an online application and upload required documents
- How to organize and keep track of multiple job applications
- How to use keywords from job descriptions in résumé and cover letters to increase chances of getting interviews
- Résumé and cover letter content and formatting
- Further library and community resources to help you get a job
Register here online, and you will receive an email invitation to the Getting Ready for the Online Job Application Process workshop between 5 and 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. The workshop will last for 1 hour.
Minimum requirements:
- smart phone, tablet, or computer
- unlimited data or wifi connection to the internet
- an active email address you can easily access
- the Zoom app or Zoom-compatible internet browser
- notebook and pen
The Library takes your privacy seriously. You are not required to turn on video for this workshop, and you do not have to use your real name. If you want to change your name, enter the name you want to use in the two fields that appear when you join the meeting. If you enter a vulgar or offensive name, we will remove you from the workshop.
Zoom name changes:
- Open the Zoom app and click on Settings in the bottom right corner of your screen.
- Click on "Profile" and then "Display Name"
- Enter your desired new name in the two text fields that appear and tap "ok."
