Tucson artists and art organizations can now apply for COVID-19 pandemic relief, with the city having over $700,000 available, according to a press release from the City of Tucson.
"Artists and nonprofit arts organizations are among those hit economically by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and relief is available," the city said in the press release. "To help support this community, the City of Tucson's We Are One/Somos Uno Resiliency Fund is offering more than $700,000 in grants to the local arts and culture community. The money comes from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act."
Applications for federal aid will be due by Oct. 5. Grants will be given from the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
These grants can help prevent eviction, assist with rent payments and utility payments, according to the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
