Ducey hopes to prevent spread of COVID-19 with executive order

The Office of Gov. Doug Ducey announced new additional actions to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the State of Arizona. 

According to a news release, the actions announced included the signing of an Executive Order that requires restaurants with indoor seating to operate at less than 50% capacity. 

Actions announced in the release include the decision to limit capacity at restaurants, as well as implementing other actions in order to further prohibit large gatherings. Actions include ceasing the issuance of new special event licenses and pausing the operations of bars, gyms, movie theaters, waterparks and tubing rentals.

Other announcements made in the release included the launching of a staffing initiative, which will offer support to staff up to 20% of licensed beds and nursing resources for hospitals that participate in the Arizona Surge Line. Ducey also issued an Executive Order on enhanced surveillance.
