City employees, their families and contract employees can now receive a voluntary COVID-19 test in Tucson, according to a press release from the City of Tucson.
No out-of-pocket expense will be incurred for those who want or need a test but they must use a contracted provider.
Providers include Evolve Tactical Occupational Health for commissioned police officers and firefighters, MBI Medicine for all other non-commissioned city employees and El Rio Health.
Walk-in testing is not available and those who want tests must make an appointment.
The city press release said, "unless medically indicated, you will only be authorized for one test. The city will not be providing weekly/monthly testing. Employees who believe they are experiencing symptoms, or a work-related exposure, should continue to follow the currently established city/workers compensation reporting process through their supervisor or HR representative.’’
Those who test positive will have their results reported to the Pima County Health Department and to City of Tucson Human Resources.
